When thinking of a name for this card I was going to get a bit cheeky, then thought better of it. I was not thinking that way when I saw a picture like this on Pinterest. My printer broke awhile ago and I refuse to replace it, so I could not print it off and trace it, which meant I had to draw it. Dang it all anyway.
I gave it my best shot, and this is the result. All because I wanted the flowers to appear like they are in the pocket for Jeanne’s Art Nudge challenge on Facebook.
The “Nudge” is this picture.
To paint I used my watercolours, which are a mixture of Daniel Smith, Schmincke and Winsor Newton.
For the jean shorts I used Schmincke colours in Helio Turquoise, Phatlo Blue and Delft Blue.
For the skin I used Winsor Newton Raw Sienna.
And for the flowers I used Daniel Smith Opera Pink, Lemon Yellow and Cadmium Yellow.
The flowers are from Gina K Designs Hugs and Wildflowers Stamp set and I used the coordinating dies as well.
I styled the flowers before gluing them in place using Nuvo Adhesive. I then stamped the sentiment from Penny Black using VersaFine Clair Ink in Nocturne where the label for the jeans would be, which I thought was the perfect spot. And, given the climate the sentiment is a perfect choice.
Yes, I had a great time doing this card, and I think it shows. I thank you for having a look today.
