It is Saturday and that means it is time for the Inspiration Challenge over at Splitcoaststampers. We are visiting a Pinterest board with all kinds of inspiration called QuiltInspiration, and there is a lot of inspiration with some beautiful quilts.

For my inspiration I picked this wall hanging quilt. I am a quilter myself, and saw several quilts that I would love to make. It is only a matter of finding the time.

I am using black watercolour paper for my card today and watercolouring with metallic paints, something I have not done since before Christmas.

This stamp is new to me and from Colorado Stamp Company called Perfume Bouquet. It is available shortly from Scrap’n Stamp Canada and is available in the USA via their website, links have been provided below.

I first heat embossed the image in gold on black watercolour paper, then proceeded to watercolour with my metallic paints. I used the pink, blue, purple, gold, green and white for my image. On the base of the flowers which are done in the pink I added the blue to punch it up a bit.

Finishing up my card I layered my black card base with gold metallic cardstock then added my painted piece. I did not like that the sides of the metallic cardstock were white, so using my Copic marker YR24 Pale Sepia, I went around the cardstock, as it would be noticeable on the black card base.

I then added a few drops of Nuvo Glitter Drops in Golden Sunset, along with a few Nuvo Sunset Yellow Butterflies. They are so sweet.

Thank you for stopping by today. Following are Affiliate Links to the products that I have used today, at no extra cost to you.

  1. This is just gorgeous, Kia! I love those metallic watercolours (added to my ‘want’ list) on the black cardstock.
