You are Strong
My beautiful friend has had her breast cancer return rather badly. I don’t have dedicated stamps for fighting that dreadful “C” word, so I decided to use elements and colours relating to Cancer.
The most recognized is the Pink. I saturated this card using Distress Oxide Ink in Picked Raspberry. On Neenah cardstock, I heat embossed my image from Colorado Stamp Company called Get Well Hydrangea, using white embossing powder. This is a 6×6 image, but I picked the area I wanted to show on my card and stamped in my Misti, making it an A2 card. which would make it an A2 card.
I then turned my stamp pad over and started dragging it across the cardstock, laying down a lot of colour. I had die cut the piece using my Stitched Rectangle die, and to get the ink into the area of the stitching I used one of my smaller Life Changing Brushes.
I did not wait for the ink to dry, but rather started removing the colour from the flowers using my paint brush and water. I am not using a lot of water, as I don’t want any pilling, but I have enough that I can move the ink.
I used Distress Inks to recolour the flowers, being Wilted Violet, Squeezed Lemonade, and Nuvo Aqua Flow Pens in Mango Mimosa and Fresh Green. For the leaves and stems I used some dye inks that I have from Wendy Vecchi Make Art in Buttercup and Forget Me Not, mixing them together. I then went over the Leaf with Distress Ink in Twisted Citron.
The reason for all of that is I did not want the leaves to take over, I wanted them to sit back and relax, and play nice
To finish up on every flower petal with the Violet I added Midas Touch Shimmering Pen. I also added the Shimmering Pen to both of the leaves. For the Flower centre I added a dot of Fern Green Nuvo Aqua Flow Pen.
To the back of the panel I added fun foam with Be Creative/Scor-pal Tape and attached the panel to my white Neenah Card base.
I stamped and heat embossed my sentiment, also from the Hydrangea set in the white, then saturated the tag with the Distress Ink in the Picked Raspberry and attached to the card using foam squares.
Thank you for visiting today. I am sure my friend will love this card and she will get all the colour stuff. Over all the years we have known each other she gets how I work.
I do not want Affiliate Links included in this post. I have made this card for Scrap’n Stamp Canada Blog, and that post has the Canadian Affiliate Links which you can find here. Thank you for understanding.
