This is “Pouf”.
It wasn’t until I took the pictures of this card that I thought, this reminds me of a circus. How fitting then to name it “Pouf”. And, the name of the stencil is Poufy Flowers, so there you have it.
I started out by sponging on Squeezed Lemonade to both the Sunray and Poufy Flower Stencils. I like putting yellow down as a first layer, especially in watercolour, as I find it keeps the colours fresh and is always a good base when you want to blend.
For this card I am using Distress Oxide Inks for their blending capability. My base card is done with the Squeezed Lemonade and Peacock Feathers. The Poufy Flower is done with Squeezed Lemonade, Spiced Marmalade, Ripe Persimmon and finally Candied Apple, and the leaves are done with Mowed Lawn or Peacock Feathers.
For my blending on the flowers I used a few different blending options. First to apply the Squeezed Lemonade for both applications I used the Tim Holtz mini ink blending tools and foams. For the Peacock Feather on the Sunray, I again used the Tim Holtz mini ink set.
I then added the Spiced Marmalade and the Ripe Persimmon using the small narrow Life Changing Brushes. I also used the small narrow brush for the leaves in the Mowed Lawn and Peacock Feathers.
For the Candied Apple I wanted a little more control, so I used my Simply Simmons Synthetic Angled 1/4 inch paint brush. This brush is more stuff than the Life Changing Brushes, which was better for getting the outline of the Candied Apple on the flowers.
I finished up by adding Green Glitter Gel Pen to the centre of the flowers.
I matted the flower piece using Gina K Design cardstock in Coral Reef, then affixed to my card base using fun foam. To complete I stamped with VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne the fun scripted Smile sentiment.
Another card that I had fun making. Love those kind of days. I hope you enjoy “Pouf” as well.
