Do you feel like some cake? I do, but I don't know who is going to make it for me as I don't bake cakes. I bake a lot of other things, but not cake. My friend who lived up north and has since passed on made the best chocolate cakes with a citrus icing that was to die for, and that is where I went for my card.
I coloured using Copic Markers, which I will list following. I then did the stencil work behind the cake using Make Art inks. I wanted my matting to match the darker colour in the stencil work so using my Life Changing Brushes I on Neenah cardstock I applied the green to the edges of the cardstock.
For the cake: On white cardstock I stamped using Memento Ink in Tuxedo Black. I then coloured the cake first doing my usual, starting with lightest colour then back down from dark to light. Icing ~ Y17, Y38, Y68; Cake ~ YR24, E99, E37; Topper ~ G40, YG03, YG17 and Y17, Y68 on the orange slice. Plate ~ YG03, YG17.
Moving on to the stencil work I am using my Stay-tion which holds everything in place while I work hands free applying my inks. The stencil is A Colorful Life Design Stencil called Doodle Wheels, which reminded my of Citrus. I brushed the colour on using the thin half inch brush which allowed me to get in the unusual places using Wendy Vecchi Make Art Blendable Inks in Prickly Pear and Leaf Green.
I die cut the piece using Penny Blacks Stitched Stackers die as I liked the leaves border. I then attached the piece to my matted border done in the Leaf Green, then attached to my card base.
On the cake I added Sakura Gold Glitter dots all over and also added a layer of Nuvo Glitter Gloss, which I also added to the icing, which shows up better in this photo.
In my mini Misti I stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. I then added a few jewel and crystal drops to finish.
