I wanted to try some of the new stencils I have received and not played with until today. They are from A Colorful Life Design, where you can get 10% off by using my Discount Code Kia10.
I am using Marvelous Masks, Layered Simple Trees (2 stencils), and Flock. I placed a piece of rolled tape to the back of my card piece when I stencil, and use the magnets from my Stay-tion to hold it all in place.
I die cut my panel using Stitched Rectangle die.
Laying down the Masks stencil and brushed on Sunflower ink, stopping about 3/4 of the way down the stencil, so I could move the bottom up. (the stencil is larger than I wanted my opening to be).
Moved on to Layered Simple Trees, laying down the leaves portion of the tree and brushing on Prickly Pear then Leaf Green ink. I then put down the trunk stencil and brushed on the ink using Acorn.
Using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne I then put down the Flock stencil and randomly added the birds where I wanted them, cleaning between each colouring as this is black we are dealing with! I then stamped the sentiment in my mini Misti using the Acorn Ink again, then added the bird using the Flock stencil and Buttercup ink.
I attached the piece to my card stock to finish. This sentiment is new to me, and I was so excited to find Canadian English, but then I saw the name, being "Across the Pond" and thought to myself, shouldn't it be "Right Next Door". :)
Thank you for joining me today. Following are Affiliate Links for the products that I have used, at no extra cost to you.
You did well to keep this card looking so clean, with all those different stencils and black ink. I know I would have ended up with smudges in just the wrong place. I love that your final bird was added in yellow, a lovely final touch to a beautiful card. Thanks for joining us at CAS Stencil this month xx
