I am hosting the Inspiration Challenge at Splitcoaststampers today, and the site that I have picked for everyone to visit is my
Pinterest Board on
Nail Art.
I find that I am often inspired by nail art that I see as I am surfing the web. It is not that I get my nails done a lot, especially during this pandemic, but when I do, i very much enjoy it.
The inspiration piece for this card comes from
these nails. I had these gems left over and I really wanted to use them as a focal on a card. This was the perfect opportunity.
I used mirror cardstock from Tonic Studios in Cobalt Velour for my card base and Neenah Solar Crest White cardstock for the panel die cut with a Spellbinders die. All of the gems are from my stash.
I finished by stamping the sentiment using a Picket Fence stamp and VersaFine Clair Ink in Paradise.
This is Be happy which was inspired by
these nails.
I die cut my panel using the same Spellbinders die as above, then in my mini Misti I stamped the flowers and heat embossed with white embossing powder.
I added frisket to the flowers and using my Life Changing Brushes I added the Distress Oxide Inks in Twisted Citron and Peacock Feathers. And yes, I mistakenly hit the green with the turquoise, darn it all anyway!
Once the sponging was done I removed the frisket masking and with Acrylic paint I painted the flowers, first adding a Vicki Boutin colour called Daiquiri Ice, then going over top with Dr. Ph Martin's White Acrylic. I then painted in the stem and leaves with watercolour, and stamped the sentiment using the Ranger Archival ink in Garden Patina.
I had a lot of fun doing these cards and I hope you enjoy them. Thank you for visiting today. Following are Affiliate Links for the products that I have used for these cards at no extra cost to you. Thank you for your support.
