We would also like to let you know that our Random Act of Cardness Challenges will continue through June, following is the list of challenges.
Now that I have the business taken care of it is time to move on to my card for today.
I used three colours of Perfect Pearls for my card on both the stencilling in the background and the die cut leaves, giving a pastel look to my card.
To start the stencil work I first applied powder to my card base so the powders would not stick to where they were not wanted.
Whenever I stencil I use my Stay-tion as it makes it so much easier to use the magnets and not worry about the tape and the waste.
For the background stencil I did partial stencil work, first inking the area I wanted to add the colour in, with the Perfect Pearls Medium, then applying the powders to the areas I inked. I used Pink Gumball, Turquoise and Sunflower Sparkle, which shows better in the picture below.
Once finished adding the colour I swept the card using the brush provided in the Letter It kit that I have. I then set the powders by spritzing water into the air and waving my card through it a couple of times.
To paint my die cut leaves cut from Arches watercolour paper, I am using my little palette dish to the right of my picture, along with a #4 size watercolour brush, which is also in the picture. I first added 4 to 5 brush loads of water to one of the wells. I then added a good size brush heap of the powder and mixed then tested on a separate piece of watercolour paper to make sure I had enough colour.
I then painted the die cut leaves, applying the colours in different areas as I went and being sure to leave areas not painted then set the leaves on a cup to dry.
I have on hand a mixture of Confetti White and water and a mixture of Sunflower Sparkle and water in Ranger Mini Misters that I use to spritz cards, die cuts etc. I used the Sunflower Sparkle on this card, although it is hard to see in the picture, there are tiny dots of the sunflower sparkle that the light picks up.
I then die cut the hello sentiment using watercolour paper twice, and glued the pieces together, then water coloured using the Sunflower Sparkle, applying two layers.
To put it all together I styled the die cut leaves a bit to give them movement, and glued to the card base using Nuvo Adhesive. I then attached the hello sentiment, again using the Nuvo along with several gems and sequins that pick up the colours.
It was such a fun experience using the Perfect Pearls, and it is something I will definitely come back to.
