Hello! It is that time again to post my card for our Watercolour Wednesday Challenge at Splitcoaststampers.com .
This week we have a special guest who is hosting our challenge, being my friend Lydia Fiedler, who does wonderful watercolouring and is a Daniel Smith Watercolour enthusiast. Lydia blogs at Understand Blue.
Lydia decided on doing the Cling Wrap Technique for our challenge today. This has to be one of my favourite techniques. It is easy and you never get the same background twice. I hope you will give it a try if you have not done so already.
For my Cling Wrap I used Daniel Smith Watercolours and Fabriano Hot Press Watercolour paper. I layed out a piece of cling wrap (also known as Saran Wrap), and added my colours, being Hansa Yellow Medium, Phthalo Blue (Green Shade) and Phthalo Green (Blue Shade), and set it aside to dry.
Using Arches Cold Press 140lb Watercolour paper in my mini Misti I stamped my sweet Penny Black image using VersaFine Clair ink in Nocturne. To watercolour I used some of the same colours that I used for the background.
For the flower I used Hansa Yellow Medium, along with Phthalo Green (Blue Shade) for the stem and leaves. For the bunny I used Jane's Grey and in honour of Lydia, dropped in some Phthalo Green (Blue Shade). It is hard to see, but on the nose there is Phthalo Blue (Green Shade).
The background I die cut using Spellbinders Hemstitch Die. To put it all together I attached blue cardstock to the back of my cling wrap piece, then attached to a yellow card base. I styled the image and attached using foam squares, then stamped the sentiment using VersaFine Clair Ink in Paradise.
I hope you have enjoyed this card today. Following are Affiliate Links for the products that I have used for this card, at no extra cost to you.
